50 folk songs compiled by Geoffrey Brace. The song categories are: ballads, comic songs, love songs, songs of affection, songs of work and drink and songs from the stage.
It is a well produced song book in a pocket format. The all melodies have guitar chords and there are footnotes to each song.
My comments:
I picked this book up in a Malvern second-hand book shop whilst on holiday in England in 1992. It cost me a princely £ 2.50. It is a very interesting collection of quite different pieces. This is the source for:
- Ballinderry
- On a British Submarine
- The Calton Weaver (Nancy Whisky)
- Fill Her Up!
- The Golden Wheat
- I once went a-courting
- Mrs Hooligan's Christmas Cake
- Mrs McGrath
- Nellie Gray
- The Titanic
- Turpin Hero
- Whaling in Greenland
