This book is the equivalent of a college course textbook. It is recommended that you have some basic music theory knowledge before you pick up this book. This book explains how to write melodies in depth. Best book I ever picked up. This is not the kind of book that shows you the "tools" and forces you to figure out the rest like those lousy high school books. Pick this book up and you won't be sorry. It's sad that this book is out of print.
