50 Christmas carols compiled and edited, with arrangements, translations and notes, and an introduction by Elizabeth Poston.
Personal remarks:
I bought this book way back in the late seventies whilst on holiday in Portsmouth with the intention of getting carols from it for singing within the family circle at Christmas time. It is a very scholarly work whereby each carol is scored for at least four voices and sometimes there is also a descant/trumpet line.
I never used it for my initial intended purpose but is the source from which I was inspired to do Away in a manger with two penny whistles with the Klingende Runde für jung und alt at a Christmas concert in Meyenburg.
This songbook also contains The Coventry Carol and The Holly and the Ivy
