According to the Internet source given below, Stanley Allison Rogers was a Canadian folk musician and songwriter.
Born Hamilton, Ontario, rock and roll, singing and playing bass guitar were his early intersests while at high school. In 1979 he started recording with RCA Records. His best-known pieces include
Northwest Passage (selected as an alternate Canadian national anthem),
Barrat's Privateers and
The Mary Ellen Carter.
He died itragically n a fire aboard Air Canada Flight 797 on the ground at the Greater Cincinnati Airport.
