Ellen Geary (1868-)

Ellen [Guerin] Geary was an Irish music hall performer born in Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland.
She is said to have appeared on stage at Poplar town hall some 100 years ago.
Nine volumes of her repertoire are presently (October 2025) in the possession of Mrs. Irene Stone of Colchester, Essex to whom they were bequeathed. Mrs. Stone is Geary's granddaughter.
The volumes contain 41 manuscript scores by various composers for leader, clarinet, bassoon, drums, flute, trombone, cornet, viola, 1st violin, 2nd violin and euphonium. No lyrics are provided. Their contents are given under the Works tab above.
The cover of one of the volumes says that she was "the late Nelly Farrell's double".
Personal Life
She married twice to James Tallentire and Bertie Ebbels with whom she had 6 children.
