p_bankyv.jpgAccording to the Internet source given below, Vilma Bánky [Vilma Koncsics] was a Hungarian-American silent film actress born in Nagydorog, Austria-Hungary.
Her acting career began in Budapest, and she later worked in France, Austria, and Germany before going to America. Bánky was best known for her roles in the American films The Eagle (1925) and The Son of the Sheik (1926) with Rudolph Valentino, and for several romantic roles with Ronald Colman.
She retired at the end of the silent era and died in Los Angeles, California.
She is featured on the sheet music cover of Marie (1928) written and composed by Irving Berlin and published by Irving Berlin Inc..
