p_ainsleyjm.jpgAccording to the Internet source given below, John Mark Ainsley is an English lyric tenor. Known for his supple voice, Ainsley is particularly admired for his interpretations of baroque music and the works of Wolfgang A. Mozartt. In the course of his career, he has gravitated towards 20th-century music, singing in operas by Henze, Janácek, and Benjamin Britten.

On a personal note as a former pupil at Worcester Royal Grammar School and a Peter Warlock enthusiast myself, I am gratified to note that he too attended that fine establishment said to be the world's sixth oldest school. He too, just as I, sang in Worcester Cathedral. Rubbing shoulders with the great what!
