I first heard "The Wren Song" on a Clancy Brothers LP
"In Person at Carnegie Hall"
together with
The Irish Soldiers,
A Man of double deed and
When I was young.
The version I sing can also be found in their
The Irish Songbook.
This is a jolly children's song about catching a wren, killing it and then collecting money for its funeral. All very educational indeed!
