This is another George Formby song that I first heard in childhood. It is a jolly song of a window cleaner describing the more entertaining perks of his profession. It's a regular recruiting song for this ill-paid job. The version which I sing can be found in101 Pub Favourites for Buskers.
Whilst searching the Internet for links for this song I found a very funny parody entitled "The Reinstalling Windows Song" by a certain Ivor Benjamin. This parody is universes away from the sentiments expressed in George Formby's version but is slap-bang up-to-date for all those Bill Gates admirers out there in cyberspace. Thanks a lot Ivor!
