 The Westoe Darling

The Westoe Darling is a 9-verse song about a certain Robin Roughheed, resident in Westoe, boasting about his physique and capabilities finishiung each verse with the line:
What a clever chap, what a clever chap, what a clever chap am aa.
Published in 1826 by Barnes in The Shields Song Book, this is for me, a typical humerous Geordie song which I had the pleasure of singing with the Tyneside Maritime Chorus which I joined in 2011.

This song may be found in the Tyneside Maritime Chorus songbook
