The Toper's Song
Last updated: 22.01.22
The Toper's Song is an arrangement by Peter Warlock in 1924 of a song from a ballad sheet sung by Joseph Grimaldi (1778-1837), the most famous of English clowns, at the end of the 1700's. Warlock dedicated this work to John Goss (1894-1952), a close friend and famous baritone. The song itself, which may be found in The Choral music of Peter Warlock Vol. 1, is splendid piece to belt out and one I very much enjoy performing with Dr. Rosteck.

This song is included in We're Only Here For The Beer! - Light by Dr Rosteck and myself.
