"The Skye Boat Song" is a very beautiful song that I often heard in childhood and it is just possible that I sang it at primary school. The version I sing can be found in Schottische Lieder und Balladen by Karlhans Frank. The melody is a little different from that which I heard as a child but I find better. This is indeed a fine song, very dramatic and you can almost hear the winds howling and the waves roaring as you sing.
