Rodney so Bold
Last updated: 22.01.22
"Rodney so Bold" is another sea song that I came across in Roy Palmer's charming songbook The Valiant Sailor. This is a jolly song of homecoming whereby a sailor's wife has her dreams interrupted by her returning husband, who had served with Admiral Rodney, at ten o'clock at night. The song extols her husband's manly appearance and a laudation to "brave Rodney" for all the prize money and jewellery with which she was now endowed.
