Innsbruck, ich muß dich lassen
Last updated: 11.10.23
I first heard Innsbruck, ich muß dich lassen as an arrangement for a renaissance quartet whilst touring Worcestershire with the The Schwanewede Recorder Consort in spring 1984. At that time it did not make that much impression on me. That was to change when I obtained an LP called Die King's Singers singen deutsche Volkslieder and found it to be really quite beautiful.
The version I sing can be found in Lieder, Songs und Gospels 2 and is an SATB arrangement by Heinrich Isaac from 1495.
