Hush, my dear, lie still
Last updated: 11.10.23
I had never heard of Hush, my dear, lie still until coming across it in Folk Songs of the British Isles. For me it is a most beautiful song, somewhat hymn-like, so much so that I scarcely believe that young parents these days in the new millennium would sing such a song to their offspring. My son unfortunately (or perhaps he might say, fortunately!) never heard from my lips either as I learned this song much too late.
