That such a song should come into my repertoire is entirely due to Nina Kreft who loved it and sang it very often. My humble part was to accompany her with restrained chords on my concertina and, entirely lacking brass and woodwinds, to play a few bars from the Wedding March in the coda on kazoo. All very funny! The song itself is of course all about what "a nice girl" should and could do to enter the harbour of matrimony.
