Cock Robin
Last updated: 11.10.23
This was a childhood favourite of mine which I used to love to hear my mother singing. I suppose "little-boy-like" I loved the gory bits about killing little birds and digging graves and it has a fine rousing chorus All the birds of the air were a-sighin' and a-sobbin' ....... My mother said that she learned this song from an Arthur Mee Encyclopaedia as a young girl when living with a certain Mrs Lloyd in Somer's Road, Worcester.
Her version can be found in A Mum's (Mostly Musical) Memories.
