According to the Internet source given below, 1968, Pamela Thorby is a recorder and trombone player being raised in Scotland and attended the Junior School of the Royal Academy of Music and Drama. Her recorder and trombone playing took her to the Guildhall School of music and Drama in London. Specialising in the recorder and a winner of various scholarships she studied with Walter van Hauwe returning to the Guildhall as a Professor.
She has performed with a number of groups including Sonnerie, the English Concert, Palladian Ensemble, Fiori Musicali and La Serennissima. Pamela Thorby's discography includes recordings of repertoire ranging from the 13th to the 20th century. She has also featured in Karl Jenkins' Adiemus and Imagined Oceans recordings.
