Persian Lamb Rag, whimsically subtitled A Pepperette was and still is very popular. It is and was much recorded and has been arranged in band and film music versions. Its form is an unusual, for Wenrich that is, AABBACCDA with a 4-bar introduction and a 4-bar interlude between the D- and A strains whereby the AB- and CD- strains are in the major keys of Bb and Eb respectively. It is a lively piece that will give much enjoyment to performers and audiences alike.
Persian Lamb Rag was published by Walter Jacobs, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
