Carolina Fox Trot was featured in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1914 where it was, according to the publisher's blurb, originated by America's classiest dancers, Billy Kent and Jeanette Warner. Its form is AABACDD with an 8-bar introduction whereby the AB-, C- and D- strains are in the major keys of C, F and Bb respectively. Clearly a fun piece as the original piano sheet music in the D-strain is scored "Clap Hands", "Knock on Piano with knuckles" and "Knuckles". Those notices have been retained and correspondingly edited in this adaptation for recorder sextet.
Carolina Fox Trot was published by Jos. W. Stern & Co., New York, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
