Length: approx. 3½ mins.
Joy Rag is, as one would expect both from the title and the dining scene as shown on the cover of the original sheet music, a jolly affair. It is a straight up-and-down no-nonsense two step rag in ABBCCB form with a 4-bar introduction and a 4-bar interlude between the BB and CC strains. A fine ensemble piece where the top three voices have a share in the melodies.
Joy Rag was published by F.J.A. Forster Music Publisher, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
