Fire Fly is a little firecracker which sparkles with just the kind of tiddly bits that recorder players so delight in. Its form is a no-nonsense straightforward ABCAB with a 4-bar introduction. The keys used are C- and F-major for the AB- and C-strains respectively. No repeats are given - an oversight? Repeating the first B- and C-strains and then finishing the piece with a final A-strain also works quite well. Please experiment - Anita Owen herself would surely not mind!
Fire Fly was published by Jerome H. Remick & Co., New York & Detroit, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
