Kerry Mills Fox Trot is a merry, bubbling lightly syncopated composition of charming simplicity which can be easily danced to. Its form is AABBACC with a 4-bar introduction and a 4-bar coda. The melodies all have a folksy, whistling character whereby the strain lengths vary from 8-, 12- to 16-bars for the A-, B- and C-strains respectively. As stated on the cover of the original sheet music, this piece is a companion to Kerry Kerry Mills Barn Dance (1908). It is also obviously a companion to Kerry Mills Ragtime Dance (1909). All-in-all a light-hearted, happy piece well suited for beginner/medium recorder ensembles.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
Kerry Mills Fox Trot was published by F. A. Mills, New York, USA.
