Paradise Rag is an instrumental version of the same named song, words by Joe Goodwin and purported on the front cover of the original sheet music to have been one of the song successes by Vaudeville actress and singer, Anna Chandler (1884-1957). The rag itself is bright, cheerful and effervescent affair in ABB form with a 4-bar introduction and a 12-bar interlude between the 20-bar B-strains. Except for a few bars in the interlude, the descant voice has all the running - it cannot be left out of any Anna Chandler programme.
Paradise Rag was published by the F. B. Haviland Publishing Co. Inc., New York, USA.
A tempo of 150 crotchets/min. is suggested.
