Double Fudge is an early Jordan work composed and published in St. Louis, Missouri in proximity to the likes of and perhaps influenced by Scott Joplin and Thomas Million Turpin before he went on to achieve fame and glory in Chicago. Double Fudge is a mouth-watering rag having an unpretentious ABBACC form whereby the AB- and C-strains are written in the major keys of G and C respectively. The second iteration in this adaptation for recorder quartet is played an octave higher than the first and thereby making demands on the treble player as it explores the upper limits of his or her instrument. Much recorded and really quite delicious!
Double Fudge was published by Hunleth Music, St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
There is also a duet version of this item.
