Nat Johnson's Rag is another Johnson ragtime delight and in this transcription for recorder quintet, is also a terrific solo piece for the 1st tenor. The basses are not left out and to have much to do. Its form is AABBACCB with a 4-bar introduction whereby the ABBA- and CCB-strains are in the major keys of Bb and Eb respectively. A must for a programme of Nat Johnson rags.
The cover of the tasteful original sheet music shows a happy dancing scene of high-stepping, smiling dancers
Nat Johnson's Rag was published by F.J.A. Forster Music Publisher, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
There is also a duet version of this item.
