Sun Kissed Roses a fine dreamy, romantic suite of waltzes which beg to be danced to. It comprises an 8-bar introduction, 3 waltzes and a coda which contains themes from the 1st and 2nd waltzes. the 3rd waltz also has a theme from the 1st waltz. In this transcription for recorder sextet, the treble and 1st tenor share the melodies. The cover of the original sheet music correspondingly shows masses of red roses, some held lovingly in the arms of a sweet demure miss. These waltzes make a fine contrast to Nat Johnson's rags and could well be included in a programme of his compositions.
Sun Kissed Roses was published by F.J.A. Forster Music Publisher, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
A tempo of 100 crotchets/min. is suggested.
