Pansy Blossoms is a straightforward "classic" rag somewhat reminiscent of his better-known Dill Pickles two-step (DBE 244). After a 4-bar introduction there is a lively repeated 16-bar 1st section followed by a repeated 8-bar section. The 1st section is used again to join a "chordy" trio and once more as closing strain after the trio. This recorder adaptation is pleasantly sonorous making use of only tenor and bass recorders.
Pansy Blossoms was published by American Music Publishing Co., Chicago, Illinois, USA.
A tempo of 90 crotchets/min. is suggested.
