Red Domino is appropriately illustrated on the front cover of the original sheet music as a red-masked beauty surrounded by red roses. The march two-step is a fine jog-along piece characterised by even solo staccato passages. Its form is AABBCDD with a 4-bar introduction and a 16-bar interlude separating the DD-strains whereby the AB- and CD-strains are written in the major keys of C and F respectively. This is a great ensemble piece as all voices have something to say at some time in this transcription for recorder quintet, the basses in particular will enjoy the their "walking" passages.
Red Domino was published by Jos. W. Stern & Co., New York, USA.
A tempo of 150 crotchets/min. is suggested.
