Echoes from the Snowball Club has the distinction of being the first ragtime waltz. It still delights and enchants performers and audiences even today and has been often recorded down the years. Its form is AABBACCDDEDA with a 16-bar introduction and a 4-bar interlude between the CC- and DD-strains whereby the ABC- and DE-strains are written in the keys of F and C respectively. The where, when and why of the Snowball Club itself is a ragtime mystery that has yet to be unravelled.
