That Dixie Dip is a pretty little rag which judging by its lyrical themes is a straightforward piano arrangement of the same named song. Its form is ABBCCB with a 4-bar introduction whereby the ABB- and CCB-strains are written in the major keys of G and C respectively. In this adaptation for recorder sextet, the basses will enjoy the thumping accompaniment spiced with one-bar runs whilst the melody voices play for the most part in close harmony. A great ensemble piece!
That Dixie Dip was published by McKinley Music Co., Chicago & New York, USA.
A tempo of 150 crotchets/min. is suggested.
