Daniels wrote Autumn using the pseudonym Nile Moret. The novelette is a spirited work reflecting the subtitle - The Woods are Ablaze. This adaptation for recorder sextet delights with the brief dialogues between all voices, a device which characterises the composition. The cover of the original sheet music shows an elegant but haughty beauty in profile amidst brilliant autumnal vegetation.
Autumn was published by Jerome H. Remick & Co., New York & Detroit, USA.
A tempo of 96 crotchets/min. is suggested.
