Stumbling, despite its engaging sub-title of A Unique Fox Trot Song With an Original Rhythm, doesn't quite come across as unique some eighty years plus after its composition. Such are the pervading effects of Confrey's pioneer work! The lyrics give a shining example to young men as to how to cope with the simultaneous task of controlling two left feet and impressing one's intended.
This recorder adaptation being an all tenor/bass affair really profits from being accompanied by a singer.
