Length: approx. 3 mins.
A Tennessee Jubilee is a pleasant, strolling march its form being ABCCDD with a 4-bar introduction. The gentle melodies should present no problems even for ensembles of moderate abilities. The cover of the original sheet music depicts a happy rural scene of "colored gentry" dancing in the exaggerated manner typical of the cakewalk era. Also typical, sadly, are the hideous caricatures representing those unfortunate people on the wrong side of the racial divide in the dear old South.
A Tennessee Jubilee was published by H.A. French, Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
A tempo of 148 crotchets/min. is suggested.
