Length: approx. 3½ mins. Sounds best if the 2nd tenor plays the lower notes of chords only.
This recorder adaptation of Klondike Rag is especially sonorous with only tenor and bass recorders being used which may mean doubling the tenors to bring out the melody lines. The rag itself is quite straightforward if not quite classic, its form being AABBACCD. A very enjoyable piece, its spirit somewhat at odds with the pained expression on the face of the polar bear emerging from the sea onto an ice floe as depicted on the cover of the original sheet music.
Klondike Rag was published by William R. Haskins Co. Music Publishers, New York, USA.
A tempo of 160 crotchets/min. is suggested.
