Swiss Cheese Rag is a charming rag which fairly bubbles and chortles along. Judging light-heartedly from the sub-title, Tango and One Step, it seems that the composer was covering his bets. The cover of the original sheet music delightfully depicts a brace of dancing/tangoing mice atop a huge holey Swiss cheese as well as a mus musculus bridal pair replete with wedding finery doing a one step one assumes within the protective walls of the cut cheese.
Swiss Cheese Rag was published by A.E. Bohrer, New York, USA.
A tempo of 90 crotchets/min. is suggested.
