My songs of the month for May are: "William Brown" (162KB) and "The Ballad of Bethnal Green" (362KB).

There are well over 600 folk-songs in my life-time repertoire which I've collected from the Royal NavyEnglandScotlandWales both IrelandsUSA, Germany ( Hochdeutsch and Plattdeutsch),  Australia and New Zealand (the sequence being completely without significance). All songs are summarised in a General Song Index and I sing most of them enthusiastically and loudly on a semi-professional basis without any marked talent. Being based in Germany I'm obliged to have something in my hands to be considered a "musician". The English concertina and penny whistles fulfil this purpose, the playing of which is sadly worse than my singing. My "heroes" include the likes of the The Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners and Stan Rogerswhich give clues to both my age and taste. For a look at my present repertoire, take a butchers at my CDs.
Whilst almost all titles are now written up, good midi links are still needed. Please let me know if you know of any better midi files to link to.

My lyric and melody sources are given in list of Songbooks and there is list of relevant CDs in a virtual CD rack. Just for fun, there is also a personal selection of songs Valentine's Day Songs for Valentine's, Mothers' Day Songs for Mother's and Father's Days. Sadly, there is now a memoriam for Brian Kelly
