 Ludovico Grossio da Viadana  (1560-1627)

According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Ludovico Grosso da Viadana was an Italian composer who took the name Viadana from his birthplace; was also monk. Held church musical posts, and wrote madrigals, canzonas, etc., as well as church music - which includes "One Hundred Church Concertos", giving an early example of continuo-writing, though without figured bass.
