According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Dieter Schönbach is a German-born composer, also conductor. Works include "Colours and Sounds" for orchestra, "Lyric Songs" for soprano and two prepared pianos, and several called "canzona da sonar" for various instrumental combinations (the implication here is a "song-like piece for instrumental performer").
