According to the Internet source given below, Jan Sandström is a Swedish composer. He was born in Vilhelmina in Lapland and grew up in Stockholm. He studied counterpoint with Valdemar Söderblom at Stockholm University. After further studies Technological University in the Luleå, Piteå School of Music he completed his training at Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, studying music theory and composition with Gunnar Bucht, Brian Ferneyhough and Pär Lindgren. His works include concertos for trombone and orchestra, for trumpet and orchestra, as well as music for ensembles, for choir, opera, ballet and for radio theatre.
