Vincenzo Ruffo  (1510 - 1587)

According to The Oxford Companion to Music, Vincenzo Ruffo was born at Verona and died at Sacile, near Udine. He became choirmaster of the cathedral of his native place and then those of Milan (1563), Pistoia (1572), and Milan again. Beginning in 1539 he published many books of church music and of madrigals, and is looked upon as one of the most accomplished of the many accomplished masters of his time.
