Anita Owen was an American composer and publisher of popular music believed to have been born in the 1870s. A prolific composer she is said to have written more than 200 works among them an opera and the radio signature song The Girl of Yesterday. In ragtime circles she is remembered for her cakewalk Dance of the Collywobbles (1899). She died in New haven, Connecticut.
