Last updated: 02.04.23
Carl Orff was, according to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, a German composer, chiefly for the stage; also conductor, editor of old music, and musical educator. A specially devised educational range of percussion instruments bears his name and his own music is also conspicuous for the use of percussion. Works include operas, incidental music to "A Midsummer Night's Dream"; scenic choral work "Carmina Burana", etc.
