According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Gordan Jacob [Percival Septimus] was an English composer, pupil of Stanford and C. Wood; noted also as a teacher and as an authority on orchestration. Works include "Passacaglia on a well-known theme" ("Oranges and lemons"); two symphonies, 3 suites etc., for orchestra; concertos for various instruments; chamber music and choral works. Also arranger, e.g. of popular tunes in comic style, and of music for ballet. CBE, 1968.
