Home | Recorder Music | Composers I | Heinrich Isaac (1450-1517) |
According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Heinrich Isaac was a Flemish (Germanised) composer, holding posts with the Medici and other noble families, and living in Austria and Italy; died in Florence. Composed church music; instrumental works; songs in French, Italian, German and Latin; the well-known tune "Innsbruck" which he harmonised was probably not his own composition.
