According to the Internet source given below, Byron Sturges Gay was an American songwriter. His best-known songs is probably Four or Five Times. Byron also worked with Richard A. Whiting, writing such songs as Horses (1926) and Fire (1926), both popular dance and comedy songs.
Of ragtime interest is his The Vamp (1919) published by Will Rossiter, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
