According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Andrea Gabrieli was an Italian composer, pupil of Adrian Willaert at St Mark's, Venice, where he later became chief organist. Works include motets, madrigals, organ pieces. Pupils included Giovanni Gabrieli (his nephew).
