According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Michel Richard Delalande was a French composer and church organist; in service to Louis IV. Works include ballets and instrumental pieces as well as motets with instrumental accompaniment and other church music. The name is usually given as Lalande but Delalande is correct.
