According to the Internet source given below, Harry Carroll was an American pianist and composer born in Atlantic City, New Jersey and died in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania . Self-taught, he played in cinemas whilst still at school. On moving to New York he worked in Tin Pan Alley as a composer/arranger while he performed his own songs at clubs in the evenings. He married Anna Wheaton both of them starring in vaudeville for many years. After the decline of vaudeville, he performed as a one-man act in various cafes singing his own songs. He directed the prestigious ASCAP from 1914 until 1917 and was later elected a member of the Songwriters' Hall of Fame.
