A typical Blyton-novel though not as famous as others.
Who doesn't love them - those boarding-school novels by Enid Blyton, showing those of us who have been going to the local schools, how much fun boarding schools can be.
The first of the books about Elizabeth Allen shows (yeah, we knew it) a spoilt girl with a good heart who is sent to a boarding school because her parents have to go abroad.
Elizabeth (surprise!) does not want to go, and she plans to be so horrid that the teachers will send her home at once. She is rude and plays tricks on everyone, but (of course) she can't help liking the school and the other children. This troubles her, because the school has decided that she might leave school if she can honestly (!) say she doesn't like Whyteleafe School.
I won't say how it ends, but you can easily guess. However, though today unrealistic and old-fashioned, it is fun reading this book.
If you like Blyton-stories, you will certainly enjoy "The Naughtiest Girl"!

Die "The naughiest girl" Bücher sind mehrere Bände über die Erlebnisse eines Mädchens (Elitzabeth Allen) die in einem Internat lebt.In diesem Band (es ist der 1.) muss Elizabeth gegen ihren Willen ins Internat. Da sie sich nicht mit dem Gedanken abfinden kann, im Internat zu leben, stellt sie lauter unmögliche Sachen an, um schnellstens rauszufliegen. An der Schule gibt es allerdings ein "Parlament" in dem nur die Schüler etwas zu sagen haben. Wie über Elizabeth entschieden wird, als alles aufkommt, müsst ihr aber schon selbst lesen.
Das Buch ist nach ungefähr 2 1/2 Jahren (intensivem) Englisch gut zu meistern, auch wenn ein paar Wörter die häufiger vorkommen(z.B. monitor=Überwacher)ein Mal nachgeschlagen werden müssen. Die Bücher entsprechen dem deutschen "Lissy im Internat". Die grundlegende Idee ist der der ebenfalls von Enid Blyton geschriebenen Dolly-Bände ähnlich.
